Snakehips - On & On (Kaytranada Remix)
Disclosure - Help Me Lose My Mind (Paul Woolford Remix) - PMR
Paul Woolford is just on fire at the moment. I really can’t wait for his Special Request album (coming out in October on Houndstooth) but in the mean-time fans like me can stay dazzled with this amazing remix of Disclosure’s Help Me Lose My Mind.

Max Graef & Andy Hart - Biting - Sleazy Beats
Another day, another great record from the Sleazy Beats crew. Here’s my pick from their latest release, a smooth Disco roller perfect for ‘mood’ building.
Space Dimension Controller - The Love Quadrant - Kinnego Records
Easy ridin’ baby
Grandbrothers - Erza Was Right
This one’s on the new Bubblers comp - a quirky, experimental folk song that is just as inspiring as it is beautiful. J’aime.
Full Intention - Icon - Rebirth
The Deep House connaisseurs have long been waiting for Full Intention’s return, and it was without a doubt that the UK duo would come back with a stomping EP which offers a fantastic groove reflecting classic old school house with that deep, modern, club-focused sound.
Icon is a gem of a tune really, and boy would I love to blast this through the office speakers and start dancing on my desk right now.
Deep & Disco Edits - So Tight - Razor N Tape
A proper 80s sounding groover sampling the brilliant You Used To Hold Me So Tight by Thelma Houston
Favourite picks from Gilles Peterson’s BBC 6 show (27/07)
There are so many good records on Gilles’ BBC6 show from last Saturday (with Matthew Herbert as guest host, OMG!) that it would be easier to just dedicate an entire blog post to it.
So, I’ve collected my favourite musical picks from his latest show here, but please do listen to the entire show which is a beautiful selection of Jazz and Electronica tunes, with a few Indies and oldies too.
It’s swingy, it’s synthy, it’s sexy. J’adore.
* Max Roach ‘Absolutions’
Late 60’s Jazz throwback. Records like these are the reason I listen to Gilles Peterson’s show every Monday religiously .
A mere sneak preview from Machine Drum’s latest prod which displays quite an elegant side to the artist’s typical (and famous) roll-it-out patterns, no thanks to his brilliant sample of Gwen Guthrie’s ‘Peanut Butter’ vocals.
* Freddie Robinson ‘Black Fox’
Another late 60’s Jazz throwback, or a mixture of Jazz and Blues if you will, with a superb mellow guitar.
No caption necessary, it’s SBTRKT and it’s Drake. What else?
I’m utterly crazy for this wicked, yet structured frenzy of broken rhythms which result in a seamless and delightful melody. Bonus: it’s free!
Pete Heller - Big Love - Essential Recordings
Happy Friday y’all #oldiebutgoldie
MermaidS - Run With the Night - FOTO Recordings
By far the best tune I’ve heard this year so far. It immediately engages with Disco sounding loops, all of which reverberate into an amazing rhythm that goes back and forward until a beast of a groove is unleashed. I’m utterly head over heels for this - pure dancefloor music!
